What About Me?

pexels-photo-356079.jpeg   We have all asked ourselves this question sometime or another. I must say I use to ask “What about me?” quite often… like multiple times a day. It is very hard to see someone else receive that promotion that you felt like you deserved. Maybe your plan was to finish college in a certain amount of time, but life got in the way. Your dreams of being a teacher, doctor or even a lawyer got put on hold. However, your good friend was able to graduate on time and with honors. It is very easy to get discouraged when you feel like “It” just is not happening fast enough. When I say “It”, I mean a breakthrough… or even just an upgrade from where we are in life right now. It can get frustrating. Especially when you feel like you have everything planned out and then once again life gets in the way. Nevertheless, do not allow unexpected bills, health problems or other peoples opinions get in your way of what goals you aspire to achieve. So you did not receive that promotion? How do you know that another job, a better job, isn’t considering you for employment right now? So your classmates graduated on time and you did not. God may be getting everything in order for your tuition to be cheaper in the future then it would be at this very moment. Sometimes what we think are setbacks are really set-ups. We are being set-up for BETTER! Not to say that those individuals who received their blessing did not deserve it, because they may have. It may have been their time to achieve those accomplishments. Do not be upset or down. Do not ask, “What about me?” Instead, Congratulate and encourage them. We do not know the extent of their own personals trials each had to face. Just like you may be going through a storm right now, you are not alone. Be patient and know that God has not forgot about you. If you are reading this I am sure you have been blessed thus far. Believe me when I say faith is not easy, but it is worth it. However, you have got to put action behind that faith. Trust that God has your best interest at heart. Continue to work toward that goal you are dreaming about and the rest will fall into place. Scripture says, ” ‘Faith without works is dead’ (English Standard Version, James 2:26).” Whether you see it right now or not, you are important. Your journey looks anything but dull and bleak. I pray you all find what you are seeking and may God continue to bless each and every one of you. Your promotion is on the way!
