You Just Have to Give Up

I know just by the title I sound pretty crazy huh? You Just Have to Give Up“.  I stand by that 100% and I am going to explain why. Life can throw you some pretty awful curveballs at times. I mean the type of curveballs we never see coming.  You know the ones your bank account did not plan for. How about when you seem to be overworked and underpaid? What about feeling totally lost in life.

Whether you are 18 or 81 we all tend to raise that famous question “What is my purpose in life?” If you have not reached that stage yet trust me you will.

Before you can fully accept your calling you have to give up! Give up the “What ifs”.  Give up you insecurities. Give up you worries. Give up your doubt. Give up your regrets. Give up all your burdens. You may or may not be religious. You may or may not be spiritual. However I personally do believe in a higher power. I believe in GOD. The Great I AM. I believe in Jesus Christ.

This blog is not to force spirituality or religion on anyone. Only to help you understand why I had to give up. I got tired of trying to figure things out on my own. I had literally hit rock bottom. I did not want to go anywhere or see anyone. It felt like I was loosing one thing after another. Better yet bills were coming from places I had no idea existed. Just when load seemed to be too great. I gave up. I went off to myself and had a long talk with God.

It was not as If I did not talk to him daily. No, it was just this time I was angry. I was angry that I was expected to carry the weight of the world on my shoulders at 4’11 and 18 years old (at the time). Everyone seemed to need something. I was pushed and pulled in a million different directions and all I wanted to do was run. So I did. I ran straight to God and he told me to just Give Up!

Let me explain.

1 Peter 5:7 says “Cast all your anxiety on him because HE cares for you.” What this means is to give everything that bothers you over to God.  He loves us enough to take on our burdens, time and time again. Yet, “we got it”. We can do it on our own…until it gets too hard.

You have to close the door on pride.Do not ever feel ashamed to seek guidance or help.  I have found myself in that prideful place more than once and it was awful. However I am so blessed to know the “real” meaning of giving up.

You have to know what specific things to give up. Do not give up on your goals and dreams. Do not give up on that promise you made to yourself concerning your happiness.

Do not let those thing go.

Look forward to a bright and fruitful future, it’s what God wants you to have. You just make sure to cut the string on the things that are holding you back. GIVE UP those negative things that cause you pain. Then make sure to never ever invite them back into your life. I wish you all the best in life. May you all see the sunny side of what you once thought was a dark, gloomy situation. You deserve more.  You are worth more.
