When we think of an eagle, we think of a bird of high importance. An eagle is known for its keen vision and its ability to soar high with its long broad wings. In many different places the eagle is seen as a symbol of courage and strength. Although, they can be fearless no other bird is as gentle and attentive to their young than the mighty eagle. They have many characteristics that can be considered favorable.
Now, lets talk about that ant. You are most likely saying, “What about the ant”? An ant is considered a small insect that most people find annoying. It is always so many of them at one time. Some, we call fire ants, can be a REAL pain in the butt. Especially when you step on their homes. Some of us barely notice an ant hill. Its hard for a normal person to see any significance in the ant upon their first observations.
The way we view the eagle and the ant, unfortunately is the way we view society. Based on popularity, credentials and circumstance… we decided who to give our respect to. It’s usually always the eagle. We treat these people with respect because of their job titles, degrees behind their names and even by the way they dress. Which is TERRIBLE! Yes, its awesome that you are being respectful to these people, but what about the ants? What about the people who don’t carry themselves like the eagle? What about the people who don’t dress like you? What about the people who don’t speak as fluently as you do? What about the person working a 9-5? Do they not deserve that same respect?
The ant works very hard. They have a mission. They each know the roles they have to play in order to protect their home and survive. They know how to WORK! Now, Im not saying the eagle is less important. Im saying they both have roles they play in life and both deserve recognition. Be careful of being dismissive to a person you would categorize as an ant. That very person could be the one to bless you abundantly one day. Be careful looking up to the eagle. He may be the one to turn against you. Respect them both.
Be blessed. If you are the ant or the eagle, be proud of that. Just don’t stop showing respect to the other. Your role could change at any moment.
